Today, he wrote <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alanrobertshaw.com\/Site\/Blog\/A9391678-D058-4C0D-9BEC-F1059F28944D.html\" title=\"Alan Robertshaw's blog\">a beautiful blog entry about his 43rd anniversary<\/a>. It&#8217;s a lovely tribute to the relationship he and his wife have built.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>My parents&#8217; 50th anniversary is in a couple of days, and as I come up to my own first anniversary, I appreciate the wonderful example these relationships provide.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Story is conflict,&#8221; they say, so we don&#8217;t often hear stories about enduring relationships. The first blush and later clashes make better drama. Our culture celebrates people making an ugly mess out of the things they&#8217;ve started, and actively encourages following our feelings around from moment to moment, regardless of the hurt and damage that causes.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s nice to see this proof that with self-awareness, deliberation, commitment, and work it&#8217;s possible to make a joy ongoing.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>&lt;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>p&gt;<br class=\"final-break\"><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"blogger-post-footer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/hame.ink\/blether\/wp-content\/uploads\/posts\/1116\/love-on-purpose0.jpg.webp\" alt=\"\"><\/div><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My flatmate&#8217;s father has a website and a blog now, because he just came out with a book.
