{"id":15095,"date":"2016-12-30T17:18:00","date_gmt":"2016-12-30T22:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hame.ink\/hameblog\/2016\/12\/30\/back-to-work\/"},"modified":"2025-09-12T07:50:34","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T10:50:34","slug":"back-to-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hame.ink\/blether\/2016\/12\/30\/back-to-work\/","title":{"rendered":"Back to Work"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I got the &#8220;All Clear&#8221; from my doctor to go back to work!<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hame.ink\/blether\/wp-content\/uploads\/posts\/1529\/20161230181355-hame-backtowork.jpg.webp\" alt=\"doctor's note\"><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t even get in trouble for taking out my own staples (though the nurse did give me a weird sideways look).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>I couldn&#8217;t resist taking a sneaky picture of today&#8217;s X-ray. You can&#8217;t see it, but where the bridge was, there are now holes running down my middle metatarsal and my radius. My arm-bones look like a <em>flute!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hame.ink\/blether\/wp-content\/uploads\/posts\/1529\/20161230181417-20161230_110420.jpg.webp\" alt=\"arm-bones X-ray\"><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>There were never any guarantees that I was going to be able to work again. While I still have a lot of rehab work to do, I&#8217;m so, so grateful that this hoped-for result is the one I ended up with, and for all the people who took such adoring care of me.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;d be easy to join the &#8220;2016 sucked!&#8221; bandwagon because of my accident, but I&#8217;m far too aware of all the blessings that would be overlooking.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Thank you.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hame.ink\/blether\/wp-content\/uploads\/posts\/1529\/20161230183247-planner-Dec2016.jpg.webp\" alt=\"end-of-year pocket planner\"><\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I got the &#8220;All Clear&#8221; from my doctor to go back to work!
