{"id":15044,"date":"2017-07-26T20:35:00","date_gmt":"2017-07-27T00:35:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hame.ink\/hameblog\/2017\/07\/26\/mister-duck\/"},"modified":"2025-09-12T07:50:33","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T10:50:33","slug":"mister-duck","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hame.ink\/blether\/2017\/07\/26\/mister-duck\/","title":{"rendered":"Mister Duck"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Doug&#8217;s first stuffed toy, Mister Chicken, is on his last leg (the other leg was torn off a while ago) and is about to burst his stuffing.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>This evening, I finally got around to making his replacement, using some old beeswaxed canvas a friend gave me and the stuffing and squeaker from a supposedly indestructible toy made of ballistic nylon that Doug destroyed within five minutes.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>I also put the excess bit of the pheromone-releasing &#8220;calming collar&#8221; inside the duck &#8212; not that the collar had any effect while it was <em>around his neck<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The first salvage toy I made him, a black rectangle, was fashioned from black canvas, and it&#8217;s survived a lot of play.
